brothers

So I had to post this. When I first took this pic of Noah I knew it reminded me of a picture of Caeden so it took me awhile to find it, but did. You can tell they are brothers! It just happens too that this picture was taken around the time Caeden was nine months also! :)

Happy 9 months Noah!!!!

Today Noah is 9 months old! Whew, time has flown by. I think it has gone faster with him than Caeden. He is such a busy little guy. He is into EVERYTHING!!!! He especially likes to try and take Caeden's toy's away when Caeden is playing with them!

I took him to his 9 month appt. He is weighing 19lbs and 9 oz (42%) and his height is 29 inches (82%). At his 6 month appt he was in the 98 or 99% of height so I was kind of surprised!

Some of his favorite things:

*dancing to music, or Mike playing the guitar
*loves playing with his push toy
*loves to open and shut cupboard doors (I know I have been after Mike to get locks on them!)
*loves to "bother" or play with his brother
*loves to play with his trucks and cars
*LOVES to eat(this is new for me, Caeden was not like this at all!)
*Loves to climb up the steps when mom or dad follows him

He is a very happy baby and pretty much likes to do anything. He is very smiley and giggly. He likes to "flirt" with the girls!

He is still trying to master walking. He takes lots of steps. He has gone from our living room to our kitchen walking, but I think he prefers crawling better.

We are so amazed by the little guy he has turned out to be. He is such a joy and a blessing in our life! It is so fun because the boys are starting to play a little together. I am looking forward to when he gets a little older and they will be interacting a lot more!

First of all, sorry for the lack up updates! January is usually a pretty busy month for us. We have 6 birthday's to celebrate! Aaron and Tom's are on the 8th of Jan, Averi is on the 15th, Taylor on the 19th, Marge on the 25th and Jerry on the 27th. Whew! That is a lot of birthdays!!! Nothing really too exciting going on besides the birthday's. Caeden is having a great time in school and loves it. This month we went and looked at 2 different preschools for him and now need to narrow it down. I think he is going to do great where ever he goes. It is so hard to believe he will be going to preschool in the fall! During this last month he has really got into the football games. It seemed like the Eagles were his team. He would tell Mike and I repeatedly that the Vikings and Chiefs lost. He watched the game where the Eagles lost, but didn't seem to sad about it. He is so excited for the Superbowl! He wants the Cardinals to win for him and the Steelers to win for Daddy are his words! His new favorite thing to do is Mike pulls up pic's of the team logo's and he goes through and names them. I can already tell he is going to be just like Mike with his sports! He also loves to play "tackle" with Mike. I will be cooking dinner and I can hear Caeden say "Blue 42, set hike!" Too cute! We have been outside a couple of times this month. Not too much as most of you know it has been a cold January! Caeden likes to help Mike with the shoveling of the driveway and make snow angels!

Another new favorite thing (and I think it has become Mike and my least favorite thing) Caeden likes to do is play all his new games!!! He is a pro at Candyland, Chutes and Ladders and Candyland shapes. This is something he likes to play ALL DAY LONG!!!!! I tired to have him switch it up a little by getting Old Maid and Go Fish, nope he likes to stick to his board games. I don't know who is more competitive Caeden or Mike?

February is a slow month for us, which is good. I am sure we will still be playing the board games, playing outside and hanging out. I would like to get Caeden on skates before the winter is over so we will see how that goes!

bowling

This weekend we took Caeden to the new bowling place in town. My sister and her family joined us and we had a great time. Caeden caught on really quick and even wanted to carry the ball by himself and put it on the ramp. The kids had their own lane and the adults had their own lane. Boy, do I suck at bowling! Of course Mike beat all the adults. I don't think he ever looses!

Noah started in his stroller and that did not last long. He wanted to be where all the action was. He even would sneak walking onto the lanes and we would have to grab him before he would "foul."

We did have a great time and Caeden has been asking all day to go back and go bowling. I think this will be something we will be doing again!

2009

We hope everyone is having a great new year so far. 2009 has been good to us so far as well. Lots of things going on at the Bril household. It was time for Noah to graduate to the next level of car seats. Which meant, Caeden got to get a new one and Noah is now sitting in Caeden's old one.

Caeden loves his new car seat and the new cup holders that come with it. Noah seems to be liking his new car seat as well. They both now can look at each other. When Noah seems to get fussy, Caeden tries to entertain him. I guess it is a win win situation!

Caeden continues to be involved with ECFE classes and loves them. He looks forwarding to going and spending some time with his friends. I love it on Friday's when he goes to school from 12:30-3:00. I know he enjoys it too. They are doing so many things and he is learning so many things as well. He has finally mastered spelling his name and is pretty proud of that.

For Christmas we got game overload! Caeden LOVES playing Candyland, Chutes and Ladders and memory. It seems like we play them OVER AND OVER all day long. He loves it so that is all that counts!

Noah is still our little busy body. He is much different from Caeden as he has to have all attention on him. Caeden was and is still good at playing by himself. You leave the room and Noah starts crying!

He is so active and SO close to walking. He loves to be brave and try and take those steps to where he wants to go. He loves to get into the kitchen pantry and take everything off the shevles. He loves to climb the stairs (of course I am right behind him).

Today we tired oranges and he LOVED them! He would even cry when we would take them away. It is so fun trying new foods with him and so far he seems to like everything (again, way different from his brother).

We are just enjoying this time with both the kids. Time seems to go by so fast. January is usually a busy month for us as we celebrate 6 birthdays in the family!

Happy Birthday Averi Jo!

So today is my niece's 4th birthday! I can remember vividly the day she was born. I was down in Mankato with a friend for a friend's purse party. On our way back home I get a call from my mom saying that she thinks Angie is in labor. Well I knew I wanted to be there to watch her be born so I flew home and had Mike drop me off at Angie's so I could ride up there with them. Now remember at the time I had just found out I was pregnant.

I get to Angie's house and she is sitting in the chair holding on to it for dear life and trying to breathe. I am starting to think, uh oh, what did I get myself into being prego's myself. My mom and dad were there and Geoff was playing Tiger Woods golf. She had called the dr's and they told her to wait 2 hours before come in. The contractions were coming closer and closer. In fact, Mike had to take over because Geoff was too busy playing Tiger Woods. It was good practice for Mike right? So it was now time to head to the hospital.

When we were in the car Angie was in a lot of pain. I was trying to tune her out because I was fearful this was going to happen to me, but felt bad for her. You could tell she was in a lot of pain. I thought she was going to have her in the car!!!

To make the story short, the HOUSE Doctor had to deliver Averi because the other doctor could not make it there on time (good call on the wait 2 hours thing). She did not receive the oh so wonderful drugs because there was no time (sucks to be her).

I had the honor of watching her be born. That was such an amazing thing and very special to me. I will always remember that (I don't know if it is because I was pregnant and now SCARED out of my mind to give birth or because I love her so much!)

Happy 4th Brithday Averi Josephine (as Mike likes to call you)! Alicia, Caeden, Noah and your boyfriend Mike love you so much!!!!!!!!!!!
