Memorial Day Weekend

We hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend. It sure was busy at the Bril household. On Sat Mike and his dad worked on putting edging in around the house while I pulled weeds. NOT FUN!!! It took most of the day just doing the edging and putting the mulch in. After MANY trips to the store to get more supplies they had finished about 8:30 at night. Whew what a day.

I had to keep the kids entertain while Mike and his dad were busy. We got the kids a water and sand table ( but I only put water in there because I knew Noah would eat the sand). Of course Caeden played with it more than Noah and kept Caeden pretty entertained. I also got out our "Diego" sprinkler. Noah thought it was pretty fun to run through it and get wet!

On Sunday we had a VERY busy day. Noah was getting his 1st year pic's taken. A friend referred me to a photographer that is located in WI. The boys were not that cooperative, so I was really nervous on what the outcome would be. We got to see a "sneak peek" and they look GREAT so far and can't wait to see the rest of them. As soon as I get more I will post them on the blog.

It was now time to head up to Uncle Kevin and Uncle Tom's house for some swimming and a BBQ. The boys had a great time swimming. Just like last year Caeden was a little hesitant to go in the pool. With some help from dad, life jacket and some cool "car's" wings from grandma he had a ball. Noah had a great time too floating in his turtle! We had a great day up there with swimming, playing in the yard and some good food. Thanks Uncle Kevin and Uncle Tom for having us at your house! We had so much fun!!

Monday was back to the yard work. We were up early and ended up getting some shrubs to plant. Our very generous neighbors and soem friends also gave us some plants and helped us put them in. It is so nice to finally have landscaping. We are still not done, but at least we made a dent into it. Mike and Caeden mowed the lawn and everyone was exhausted by the end of the day!!!

ECFE

On Wednesday was Caeden's last ECFE class. Next step is preschool. It was a little sad for me. We have been doing ECFE's classes since Caeden was 9 months old and both of us look forward to going. Caeden has met some great friends there, that he talks about ALL the time. His favorite thing to do there is play with the train table. If he could, he would play there all the time. But, mom likes him to do the art projects so I have something to hang on my fridge!

This class theme was animals. He got to paint an elephant and giraffe and even hammer in some golf tee's. It was a great day and a fun way to end our ECFE sessions with him.

Zoo

Last week we made it to the zoo for the first time this spring. It was a great day for it. I think it made it to 97 that day. We went with my sister and Averi and everyone had a great time. This was Caeden's first time being able to walk around without being in the stroller. Caeden loved the bear exhibit and Noah just loved looking at everything. I am sure we will be spending a lot of time there this summer!

Fun times

Now that the weather is FINALLY getting nice out we have been spending a lot of time outside. Of course Caeden loves going outside and Noah does too. Noah screams when we have to come back in. It is so nice to have a yard to let the boys run and play in. Caeden enjoys helping Mike with yard work, playing catch, bubbles, sidewalk chalk and playing with his soccer net. We still can't get him to ride his bike. For some reason he is deathly afraid of it! Hope that passes soon. Santa paid a lot of money for that bike.

Noah likes to play with anything he can push. He loves pushing the lawn mower and the shopping cart. He also LOVES kicking balls around. I think it gets Mike excited because whenever Noah sees a ball he picks it up and then drops it and starts kicking it!!!

We are looking forward to even more warmer days so we can get our pool and sprinklers out!!!

Mall of America

Last week, Caeden and I were able to take a field trip to the Mall of America to ride some rides. Noah stayed back with grandma and g-pa and it was so nice to spend some one on one time with Caeden. At first he was a little unsure about riding rides. He sat out a few rides. Finally I basically had to take him kicking and screaming and he realized he loved it so rode most of the rides the rest of the day. Towards the end of the day, mom got to sit out most of the rides too! He was a little bit scared of the roller coaster so he sat that one out.

He loved the merry go round, the bus, bumper cars, the blues clues ride and just hanging out with his friends. We had a great day and we were both exhausted when we came home. Caeden even commented on how much fun we had, but next time we should bring Noah he tells me!!!

Taylor's Baseball

This year Taylor made traveling baseball. We have spent many Monday and Wednesday nights watching him play. Caeden loves it because he can play with Averi and Noah loves to walk around while we chase him.

Taylor is doing so good. He has played many positions including pitcher. We have seen some great plays and great hits out of him. We all love going to his games to cheer him on!!! Go Taylor!!!!

Noah's 1st birthday

Noah had a great 1st birthday. On his actual birthday, my mom, grandma, Angie and Averi joined us at Chuck E Cheese to celebrate. He had a great time as did Caeden and Averi. That night Grandma and G-pa Bril and Angie and Averi came down for cake and presents. He didn't like his cake as much as I thought he would of. He took some bites and mostly played with it. We sure did have a mess though when he was done with it.

That Sunday was his party. We had lots of people come to the house. He was very spoiled by family and friends! He slept through most of his party, but had a good time. This time he had a cupcake and again, just mainly played with it. It was a great day!

Here are some more pic's from the party. All and all I think he had a great birthday!!!
