Getting ready for Halloween!

This past week since we were homebound and everything with the sickness, it was a perfect time to carve some pumpkins! This tradition has started even before Mike and I were married! We loved doing this and getting the kit from target and picking out which ones we were going to do!

We tired to get the kids to help get the "guts" out, but neither of them wanted to touch it. Thye just watched while Mike and I did it. Caeden did help out a little as you can see in the picture!

We bought a little pumpkin for the kids to paint on. Caeden loved to paint on it and Noah not so much. We even painted their hands to put on the pumpkin. As you can see from the pictures, Noah freaked out!!!

Here are the pic's of the finished product! It was kind of a shame because they didn't turn out. I think the pumpkins were starting to go bad! But we had fun anyways and the kids love lighting them at night!

Caeden's 4 yr pic's!

About a month ago, we had Caeden's 4 year pic's done and family pic's done. It was a beautiful day out and we had a perfect spot to take them at! Caeden did very well with the pic's and did his "typical" pose that he does. Buena kept telling him he needed to relax his face. The boys had fun skipping rocks in the creek! It was so much fun and I am so happy for the way they turned out!

Thank you Buena for doing a great job and being so patient with my family! You do some amazing work and can't wait to do Noah's 2 year pic's!!!!

Poor Caeden

So this past week has been a long, stressful, overwhelming, overall a sick week!!!! Saturday we ended up taking him in because he was screaming that his ear hurt and sure enough he had an ear infection. Sunday he was feeling much better after having some med's in him. Monday we started with a hospital tour for Caeden's surgery scheduled for Thursday. Tuesday he had school and then we had his pre-op appt. Wed morning he woke up with a little fever and i started to freak out that he wasn't going to have his surgery, the nurse assured me as long as it isn't over 100 he is fine. So we went to Chuckie Cheese that morning with some great friends. At first, Caeden was fine, running around, playing and then he started to go down hill. The rest of the day he was running a fever between 102-103 and complaining about his head hurting and his "leggies" hurting! Again, me being me, freaking out called the nurses line (BTW not impressed!) and told me if probably was just nerves for him going to have surgery the next day. So that whole night I made him sleep with me and he pretty much was up the whole night with a fever and complaining about his body aching! So that morning at 5:00 when we were schedule to get up and leave for surgery, Mike and I are deciding on what to do. Children's West did not open until 6 and we had to be there at 6:30. We decided that he probably would not have surgery and tired to go back to bed. I called at 6:00 and sure enough the nurse said no way and that we might want to take him in, because it sounds like H1N1 symptoms! So again, FREAKING out. Duh, why hadn't I thought of this. I was so wrapped up in this surgery that is all I could think about!

So he had an appt later that day! They did not test him for it because our doctor told us that the test is only 50% accurate, but he said based on Caeden's symptoms he thought he had H1N1!!! So it was too late to put him on Tamaflu, but he put Noah on it(THANK GOD!). I am thinking he caught it from school. There has now been 4 cases of it there.

So the weekend was spent indoors getting creative all weekend trying to keep the kids happy and entertained. Noah was fine and wanted to play, Caeden started to want to play around Sat night.

His fever is gone, but he has a horrible cough. And on Sunday he woke up with a rash. The nurse thought it might be Roseola. (Don't ask?) He has been VERY irritable, not eating and very tired! I feel so bad for him!!

Then this morning this is what it looked like. Poor little guy. I was excited that we might be able to get out of the house today, but I think I would get some weird looks. Darn it!!!

So I got this idea from another friend (who I think had it way worse). This is what our house has been going through. The beer and ibuprofen are for Mike and I!!

We are thankful that he didn't have it that bad and was not hospitalized or even worse. So far so good on any of us getting it. Knock on wood.

So here is to hoping this week is a better week. I will be posting some pic's of craving the pumpkins and halloween!!!

Pumpkins!

This year we went to Paul's to pick out Pumpkins. We went on Sunday (so of course we had to hurry because football was on) and it was nice out. The kids had a great time picking out pumpkins. Noah kept pointing to all of them and saying "ball."

Inside they had a hay maze the kids could go through. They loved it. Although, some points they got a little scared of the scary things hanging above their head! It was also a little bit warmer in there too!

This last picture is of Caeden in front of the haunted house they have there. He wanted to go in it SO bad. So we paid the buck to go in and once he saw what was inside he did not want to go in. So I made him at least get a picture taken in front of it!!!

We can't wait for Halloween around here!!!

Fun times with some great friends!!!

This past Sat we were able to go over to the Tyma's house for some yummy food and great company. We were able to see Matt and Christina and their two adorable kids Meriden and Eli. We were also excited that Ryan came too. Poor guy though he entered a house FULL of kids! I think he had a great time though.

The kids played really well together and loved all the toys Owen had!! It is always fun to play with new toys!

Poor Owen, was so wiped out from all the commotion and the kids in the house, that he zonked out, but then got his second wind!!!

SNOW Already????

I can't believe there is snow on the ground already! It is already melting so that is good! Caeden had a great time outside! He made snow angels, we had a snowball fight and tired to make a snowman until Noah knocked it down. Noah, I am not sure if he liked it. He doesn't like having a hat and mittens on. And he fell face first in the snow, so I knew then it was time to come in!

As pretty as the first snowfall is, I want fall BACK!!!!!!!!!!

Go Vikes!!!!

Apple Orchard

This past Wednesday, Mike took the day off and we took the kids to the apple orchard. We were a little late this year, but it was nice to go during the week, so it wasn't that busy. The sun was out, it was a little chilly though. We had a great time picking apples off the trees. Mike even climbed the trees with the kids, which they loved! I think from now on, this is how we will do it, go during the week and maybe when it is a little warmer out!!!
