Camping!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This past weekend we got to try out camping for the first time. We went with our really got friends the Vohs family! We had booked this back in Feb and have anxiously been waiting for this weekend to come! This past week there was A LOT of prep work involved getting ready and we were all excited! The forecast was going to be HOT, and stormy, but we were hopeful that the rain would hold off!

Friday morning we got up there and Mike set up the tent. There was little swearing going on so that was good. The kids were so excited and wanted to get into the tent right away! After we got all settled in we went swimming. They have a man made lake there that they treat and everything so you don't have to worry anything creepy crawling on you! The kids LOVED this. Noah has no worries at all. He would just float along. It was a little diff cult for Caeden as he could not get his face wet because of his stitches, but he still had a great time!

We came back and had some yummy dinner and some smores. The kids did so well playing that the adults could just sit back and relax. Both boys did so well sleeping in the tent and we were not up too early the next day!

The next day we went swimming again and the weather was looking a little gloomy after we got done, but we were still hopeful. So we made some calls and it was not looking good. Just as we got packed up it started to rain.

We were all so bummed, but the Vohs family was generous enough to have us all over and we would try and contiune our camping weekend by having a sleepover! We had pizza's over the fire and some more smores and just as we were finishing it started to storm in farmington! We even saw some reports on the news that a tornado had touched down in Lake Elmo! Whew, glad we got out of there!

All and all in was a GREAT weekend and we can't wait to try camping again!!!!!

OUCH!!!

So last week we had a bit of an emergency, accident, nervous breakdown, all in one day!!!! I was taking Caeden to the dentist and everything was going well. The hygentist thought it would not be a bad idea to get Noah in too since he was so interested in it. So I couldn't get him in for another 40 min. So I thought we would run over to Cub quickly and pick up some things and then head back. As I was pulling into Cub, Noah is screaming because he can't find his nuk. I un buckle Caeden and he USUALLY hangs on to his door handle. As I was shutting the truck of the Pilot, BAM, I shut it right on Caeden's forehead. I started freaking out and of course Caeden did too. I actually got to see his skin split! THANK GOD, there was a man there calming me down as I was crying, Caeden was screaming and Noah still screaming because he can't find his nuk. I went to the nearest ER and he had to have 3 stitches! He did so well! Me on the other hand, got a little woozy and had to sit down with an ice pack! Caeden did great though and his stitches were removed on Sunday!

Caeden and his sports!

Since May, Caeden has been in baseball rookie camp through Lakeville! He has had a great time learning all the basic skills of baseball with the help from dad, as Mike was able to help coach the kids! His last session I was able to go and took some fun pic's. Noah wanted in on all the action too and couldn't understand why he couldn't play! Caeden got a medal and is pretty proud of it!

He is also in soccer and seems to enjoy that too! He always wants to go outside and practice with dad! It is so much fun seeing him play sports and I can't wait for him to get older so I can be that "soccer mom, baseball mom" or whatever he chooses!

July

July has been a busy one for us. I can't believe it is almost over with!!! Where does the time go? We have had fun things to do in July. Lots of play dates of course (this is what keeps me somewhat sane as a stay at home mom). Here are a few pic's from our fun play dates:

We were also able to get down to Sleepy Eye and visit our college friends the Andres family! Every year they have AN AMAZING BBQ and wonderful food! You definitely come stuffed! Caeden and their oldest Meriden had a great time playing together! They also have a little boy Eli that is the happiest boy I have ever met! Thanks for inviting us for a wonderful day of food and friends!

Noah in his big boy bed

Last night we put Noah in his "big boy bed!" And I am happy to say, it was a HUGE success! He stayed in there all night and didn't put up a fuss when having to go in there. It might have helped as he did not nap that day, but who cares, he made it! As some of you know, for Caeden, it was a different story! I am not very good at this blogging so I can't link it, but if you go to 2008 of my blog and March you can read all about Caeden's adventures!

Cascade Bay

Again this summer we are able to do Little Mates at Cascade Bay before it is open! The boys love to swim and are like fish! We have some friends in it with us this year which makes it even more fun! On Monday since Mike had the day off, we decided to make a day of Cascade Bay! We had so much fun as a family. The boys and us LOVED the lazy river! I think Mike and I were more tired at the end of the day, then the boys were!

4th of July!

As most of you know, my dad's birthday is July 4th. This year we celebrated it on the 3rd! Angie and Geoff were able to get a moon bounce for the kids and they loved it! Actually I think Aaron, Geoff and Mike enjoyed it more than the kids! We had great food and great company! I think it is safe to say, my dad had a great birthday!!!
